What data we process

Contact details: email address and phone number of the applicant.

Appointment and contract details: preferred date, place of the ceremony, language, mahr and your notes.

Details of the groom, bride, wali and witnesses: names, date and place of birth, nationality, address, religion, parents' names, and type and number of the identity document.

Purpose and legal basis

We use these details only to review your application, arrange the appointment, prepare the marriage contract and issue the certificate. The legal bases are Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (handling your request) and your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.

Religion is a special category of data. We process it only on the basis of your explicit consent (Art. 9(2)(a) GDPR) and within our activities as a religious association (Art. 9(2)(d) GDPR).

By submitting, you confirm that the other people named agree to their details being shared. At the appointment in the mosque we inform each person again in person.

Identity documents and copies

Original identity documents are shown and checked at the appointment. We only make a copy after the person concerned has agreed in writing. Copies are not stored through this website. Please do not send identity documents by email.

Who sees the data

Only the people at Alahibba Mosque entrusted with the marriage (the imam and staff appointed for this) have access, through a protected login. We do not pass your data to anyone else, except to the technical service providers listed below or where the law requires it.

Hosting, servers and email

This website runs on Vercel Inc. The servers that process your details are located in Frankfurt am Main. The database is hosted by Neon Inc., also in a data centre in Frankfurt am Main.

Confirmation and status emails are sent through Google Workspace (Google Ireland Ltd.) from noreply@alahibba.de.

These providers process data only on our behalf and on our instructions (Art. 28 GDPR). Where data may reach the USA, this is based on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long we keep data

We keep the details only as long as the purpose requires. Applications that do not lead to a marriage are deleted once they are closed. Details of a marriage that took place are kept so that we can issue confirmations later; at your request we delete them unless we are obliged to keep them.

Server logs

When you open the pages, technically necessary details such as IP address, date and time, requested address and browser type are logged briefly to keep the website running and secure. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest).

Cookies, fonts and analytics

We only use technically necessary cookies, for example to show your own documents after a status check. There is no advertising, no analytics or tracking, and no embedded third-party content.

All fonts and images are loaded from our own server. Your browser does not connect to Google or any other third party.

Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection (Art. 21).

You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future, for example by email to kontakt@alahibba.de. This does not affect the lawfulness of processing before the withdrawal.

You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is the Bayerisches Landesamt für Datenschutzaufsicht, Promenade 18, 91522 Ansbach, Germany.
